Marcia Grossman, RD, LD, PA-C
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky, Bachelors of Science in Dietetics Studies in 2001. I started off my career as a Dietitian providing medical nutrition therapy and food service management to patients in a retirement community. I loved working with the patients but realized that there was more that I could do to help. I decided to go back to school to become a Physician Assistant.
I returned to the University of Kentucky and completed my Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2006. I then went to work for a well known Neurosurgery Practice in Akron, Ohio. Since we provided care at level 1 trauma centers, we cared for many critically injured patients and those suffering from complex brain tumors. In my role, I was able to help the patients and families make sense of what was happening to them . Educating patients and their families has always been really important to me. In 2018, I transitioned to a role providing Orthopedic Spine care in the Canton, Ohio area. I was able to utilize more education in the outpatient setting.
Sadly, in healthcare, providers often do not have time for education. Providers may give patients the right answer “You don’t need surgery.”, but they often don’t tell them why or what else can be done. I’ve been able to help many people finally get answers.
In both roles, surgical assisting, suturing and injecting were some of my favorite parts of the job.
In this new role in aesthetics, I’m excited to be able to marry the things I love most. Helping people THRIVE by providing solutions to cosmetic concerns while providing the education they deserve.
